If you are a newbie to craps, you may find it a little confusing; however, armed with the right information and tips, you will quickly start understanding it. Craps is among the most popular land-based and online casino games, and offers players a terrific opportunity to have fun while minting it in style. Here are a few things you should know about craps before you get started.

How to Play Craps

This game involves the throwing of dice and betting that the dice roll goes your way. To bet, you are normally given chips which you can then place on any section of the table. You may wish to push your chips toward the dealer and let him/her know where you want them to be placed.

One of the simplest bets you can make is “The Field”. To win this bet, the dice need to roll onto any of the numbers: 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. It usually pays at 1 to 1 which means if you bet $20 you win $20. Once you have won, it is a great idea to remove your chips from the table, failing which they will be bet again.

Another bet you will likely see people playing is the “Pass Line” which involves the numbers: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10. The ON/OFF button may also determine how you bet. If it is on OFF, and the dice rolls to 7 or 12, you will win. However, you will lose your pass line bet if the dice roll reveals the numbers 2, 3 or 12 while the button is ON. Be sure to check table minimums and adhere to the rules of the game.
